While finishing her degree in Special Education at New Jersey City University in New Jersey, she began working in a school designated for children and adolescents with disabilities, and remained in education at varying capacities for seven years. Most of her experience has been with children and adolescents with Autistic Spectrum Disorders, and she has also provided services, both direct and consultative to students with Down Syndrome, Emotional and Behavioral Disorders, and Attention Deficit Disorders. Throughout her educational service, Meghan has developed creative ways for teaching new skills, reducing non-productive behaviors, encouraging social play and interactions, and promoting self-care and independence. "After years of teaching and consulting in the educational system, it is my hope to use my knowledge of children with special needs and how they best understand and enjoy the world around them, to contribute to their lives outside of a classroom setting. I believe that travel provides vast opportunities for children to not only apply what they have learned, but also be exposed to new ways of learning. Most importantly, I want to return to the time when I had a direct and positive impact on children and their families, appreciating each child's uniqueness and humbly sharing in their joy."
